Things I’m Learning From FaceBook

No, I haven’t given up on the site yet.  I’ve started ignoring all those stupid quiz invites, and all the other crap that crowds up the site, and have focused on only keeping in touch with people on there, and I’m learning lots about myself and others.

Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

My hubby posts random movie quotes as his status message every hour or so, though I’m not sure why, nor do I recognize most of the quotes.

Women will be-friend anyone whom they knew online meds without prescription even in passing apparently.

Guys only befriend the girls that they had crushes on at some point in their lives, apparently.

I was considered very unapproachable for a very long time, but somehow have lost that label.

Spouses hide their FaceBook addictions from each other.  And sometimes cialis online no prescription even the fact that they have Facebook profiles.  Sure hope they don’t see each other in my friends list…

The girl who has been my best friend since junior high is turning into someone that I wouldn’t likely hangout with any more, and she’s putting it out there for the world to see…

Lots of soldiers start on Facebook when they’re overseas…  And they seem to have lots of time to chat.

Guys post random pics of themselves and their toys in their photo albums.

Girls post every photo that they’ve ever taken.

People tend to label photos wrong, as four different people whom were at my daughter’s kindergarten program have labeled my daughter in their pictures with MY name instead of hers.

Age doesn’t matter on FB, or maybe it’s just that age no longer matters at our ages…  That one’s a bit confusing yet… I’m still looking into it…

People have a habit of posting the same status message over and over and over again for some reason… I think they just keep hitting enter for some reason…

Girls are obsessed with trying to find the best diet pills

Guys you grew up with, but never paid any attention to look much better in uniforms…  Let’s hear it for all those sexy soldiers out there!

And I’m sure there’s a lot more that I just can’t think of right now…

Maybe I’m weird, but I only ‘friend’ people in FaceBook that I want to be friends with. Which means nobody from High School.

I’ve only actually requested a few friends, but I feel bad rejecting people that I did once know when they send me a friend request. Maybe it’s because I’m trying to make myself more approachable, since I’ve been told that I’m not…

I am happy to hear that you find Facebook useful. I have my moments with it, depending on how I feel. Mostly I deactivate the account, as I find it too concentrated on the physical world, and less on the internal world. This either frustrates me or leaves me very disinterested. I get sucked in too easily by these kind of influences as I am a highly sensitive person, so eventually I leave. Few times, well the last time I was on it has to be the longest journey as I felt okay about it, as I was directing myself to people who were using it for useful means rather than social status. (Which seems to be more of what it is about-gossip and all) Nice to stop by your blog. :)

I tend to talk to each person and catch up with them as they friend me, and then only read their status updates and such afterward… After all after catching up with them, there’s not a whole lot to talk about… Which would be the reason we lost touch in the first place…
