Every Mom Wants to Work From Home

I work from home and live in a very small town, so everyone knows that I work from home. What they don’t understand though, is what exactly I do.

I get calls all the time from people who know me, usually young mothers, timidly asking me what type of home based business I run, and wondering if they could do it too. They’re usually very disappointed when I tell them that I mostly design small business websites, and that it does require programming experience. I always feel bad when I hear the disappointment in their voices.

It seems it’s every mother’s dream to be able to work from home, and be home with their children. Me, I work from home now, but the only children I have home with me most of the time are my four legged ones. So, I’m always on the lookout for home based business ideas that I can give to these callers. I see tons advertised all over the internet, but to me most of them look like scams, or something that no one is going to make much money on. The ones I do find that look like they are legit, and prescription drugs without prescription promising (money making wise) are usually too expensive for most of these women to start up, as they require buying into a franchise or something.

Can anyone recommend a good home based business that would require very little start up costs, but could produce a decent income within a few months. Most of the women who call me are in their early twenties, have one or more small children at home, very little computer experience, and are working full time for minimum wage, while paying a daycare center $2.50 an hour or so per child. I would love to be able to help them out, but with the demands of my own business, the work I do for the township, and acomplia weight loss pill my family, I have very little time and/or energy left to do the research needed to point them in the right direction.

What I don’t want to hear about is any type of matrix, affiliate program, etc. I’m looking for legitimate home based businesses not something that is going to lose them money over the long run, not make money, or cost thousands like the home based franchises.

I would love to train them all to design small business websites, like I do, as there is a big demand for this in my area (which I have trouble keeping up with) but I’m not a teacher, and wouldn’t even know where to begin. So free courses in something along those lines would be great also, as there is nothing like that offered around here, unless you enroll in one of the local colleges.

Thanks for your help!
