Wow, what a day – we actually had news here in backwoods PA. And not just news but a murder, which is a very, very, rare thing to happen around here.
I spent the morning debating it with anyone and everyone whom called to talk to me about it, which seemed like everyone I knew, because he was a former client of the company I worked for, before I left the corporate world of land development to strike out on my own. It was an exciting day!
Yeah, I know it’s horrible, but it’s true – this is like the biggest thing to happen in years. Since the guy shot both of his parents, drove to Canada and then turned around and came back and turned himself in.
As for how the murder happened, trespassing is what started the argument that left the landowner dead, and one of the bear hunters, who were the trespassers, injured. As for my opinion, I have to side with the landowner. I know I would approach a group of hunters to ask them to leave my property without being armed myself. As for who fired the first shot – only the witnesses (the other hunters, one of whom is now in jail for shooting the landowner) will probably never know the truth, as the only witness for the landowner, was the landowner and he’s dead.
As a landowner myself, and one whom happens to live in one of the most hunted spots in the area, as my property adjoins 5800 acres of state game lands, I know what an annoyance rogue hunters can be. They feel that if they’ve got a gun, they can do whatever they want. No, not all of them, just the few idiots whom feel they should be able to hunt anywhere, no matter who owns the property. Over the years, I’ve had to chase many of them off of my own property. Okay, so I usually call my dad or one of my uncles to do it for me, as I’m rarely armed, but they usually are.
In other news: I’ve got a great product review coming up after Thanksgiving, I was so happy that the fulfillment center got it to me before the holidays – I have been having so much fun with it! I can’t wait for you to read my review!
