acomplia medication World Prays and Remembers 9-11-2001, Day of Infamy when Terrorists Murdered Many_IMG_8676″ hspace=”8″ align=”left” />A High School student in Kentucky is facing felony charges for writing a short story about a high school being over run by zombies. How ridiculous is that?
The worst part is, it seems to be happening quite often anymore.
When my son was in the 3rd grade, only 9 years old, he and his friend were sitting on the playground talking about a movie. I believe it was one of the Wesley Snipes Blade movies. Apparently in the movie someone blows up a computer. Well, one of the teachers over heard them and they were shipped off to the Principal’s office.
Imagine my surprise when I got a call from online drugs without prescription the guidance councilor on my way home from school. He just wanted to let me know that my son had received 3 days of in school suspension for threatening to blow up a computer. I was mortified, doubly so because I had gone to school with the guy.
I could hardly wait until I got home to ask him about it, and when he explained what had happened, I couldn’t believe the school had over reacted so badly. His teacher, another friend of mine, had understood what the boys were talking about, but it wasn’t her that had over heard them, it was one of the old bats that were relics from when I was in school.
After getting the whole story from my son, and from his teacher, I decided to do something about the ridiculous punishment that the elementary principal had doled out. I went to the pesident of the school board, which wasn’t hard because he was my boss at the time. I told him all about it the next day at work, and he was as apalled as I was.
Now come on – these were third graders, not terrorists.
My son and his friend were both released from the punishment, at the urging of the school board, and that over zealous elementary school principal lasted only until the end of that school year, the teacher who had turned them in was ordered to apologize to them – over the loud speaker during the morning announcements, and she promptly retired before the next school term.
Now I, as everyone else, see the need for enhanced security in schools, due to all of the school shootings. But I think they are taking it a bit far, arresting kids for writing ficitonal stories, suspending them for talking about movies, etc.

Yes, that’s a bit ridiculous. Okay, that’s pretty darn ridiculous.
I suppose we could consider stories such as these as a testimonial of how frightened everybody is nowadays… or dumb.

I can see being frightened – but stuff like this goes beyond that!
