The Trouble With Glasses

I’m the first to admit that I know basically nothing about teenage boys from a relative’s perspective. Having only sisters growing up, my only contact with teenage boys was from a school and dating perspective, and of course, they’re on their best behavior when they’ve got a girl over…

So anyway, I simply know nothing about teenage boys, which makes parenting a teenage son quite difficult. You would think that my husband would be able to help out in this department, but his advice is usually inappropriate, and or very wrong in our situation. cialis chicago Why is this? Because my husband’s upbringing was far from the normal family life we’re living.

Okay, so down to the heart of the matter… My fourteen year old son refuses to drink out of glasses, or any other proper drinking container. He can often be found with his head stuck under one of the faucets, including the outdoor faucets which totally grosses me out, I mean we have three male dogs that feel the need to mark EVERYTHING, or drinking straight out of the container the beverage was purchased in, i.e. a two liter bottle, the milk jug, the juice carton, etc…

And he does it not only at home, but everywhere we go, including up at the water plant in the gross utility sink when he’s mowing the lawn. It’s a nasty habit, but one I can seem to break him of…

So what other weird habits can I look forward online pharmacy prescription to from a teenage son?

Oh my, I must admit that I thought this only happened on television. Well, I have a question for you: When did this habit start? I am only speculating, but could it be that it’s something he did when he was younger that was thought to be “cute” then you couldn’t break him? Or is it that dad does it too? I know, I know… you didn’t ask for any opinion on that. Sorry. :)

Right now my experience with teenagers is my oldest daughter who just turned 18. I’ve been around a few of her male friends that age and I haven’t seen that happen. As a matter of fact, I have to go pick up my two middle children from her boyfriend’s house in a little bit and if I remember I’ll ask him about this. What else do you have to look forward to? Hmmm?? According to one uncouth male that I know, “All men sit around holding their genitals.” And I know that’s not true! Guess I should have just said I don’t know, huh?

My son is just 5 now and I have three girls. I’m sure our habits (most of them) will rub off on him. Maybe it’s possible to have a friend of your sons tell him about how nasty a habit that is – especially away from home and outdoors.

The habit started about the time we moved into this house, so about 10 months ago. I have to admit, I did let it slide at first, simply because there was so much else going on… I figured it was just a short time thing, probably because he was helping with the dishes more often than usual, because I was spending my time unpacking…

I’ve never seen my husband drink out of anything but what he should be drinking out of… He’s the anal one, I’m the one more likely to be caught drinking the last of the milk straight from the carton… I know, I’m a horrible mother… lol…

I’ll have to ask his best friend’s mom is he does it at their house, but I’m guessing he’s probably better behaved there…

      Thanks for the advice!

I think he is just growing fine,, there is nothing to worry for that is what boys are suppose to be… you can also expect teenage boys would still be showing more inappropriate manners, and so far would just irritate you as a mother… dont fight it, but just learn to live with it, because we can only change if we find embarrassment with the girls we like, and that is more likely on our early adult stage, hehe, same would go with your husband im sure…

Looks like you have a lot to look forward too. LOL! I can’t help you with the teenage boy thing. I grew up with all girls in my house. Though I do remember drinking from weird places too as a teenager. LOL! Maybe it’s a teenager thing? Not something I’m proud of though. Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comment.

So you did it too as a teen, that’s good, at least he’s not the only one to do it! Thanks for returning the favor!

I think every kid has peculiar habits. As far as teenage habits, there could probably be ones that are a lot worse :) .

That’s true, I suppose, he could be picking his nose or something really gross!
