Hubbies, you got to love them…

Obviously, as that’s why we’ve married them, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t drive us crazy sometimes.

My hubby, like me, seems to lean toward OCD on certain things.  Things like housekeeping, yard work and especially working out.

Exercise:  he has a love hate relationship with it.  He loves to look fit and in shape, but he hates to take the time to work out, at least part of the time.  The other part of the time he wants to work out constantly.

A few weeks ago he was in that stage – he just couldn’t stand to stay away from his home gym, which was in our garage, he kept buying all kinds of diet supplements aimed at men and building muscle, and obsessed over all of it.

So I gave in.  I let him haul his weight bench, free weights, and a few other things up to our bedroom, and I packed away my sewing table until spring.

Since that time, he’s used the weight bench about three times, and I’ve had to drag out my sewing machine at least ten times…

But I’m trying to hold my tongue and instead just encourage him to use the home gym…  And, I have been using it a bit myself, so maybe it’s not such a bad thing, that my bedroom looks like a gym, with a bed shoved in the corner…

Gotta love ‘em alright. Mine turned my elliptical trainer into a hat stand of sorts. He hangs hats, jackets, pants, shirts, and other things he intends to wear again there when there’s a perfectly good rack for that kind of thing just a few steps away. Then, he complains about the space the thing is taking up because I never get to use it. It’s so boring (this is my excuse, lol) to take all of his junk off the thing first only to return again afterward – I place the stuff elsewhere and I spend my life answering his “Where’s my…” It never occurs to him to use his eyes to look for things… I could go on some more, but I think that’s it for my rant, heehee

Go ahead and rant – it’s a good stress reliever! Yes, our weight bench too tends to get piled with stuff, mostly laundry, because I used to fold the laundry on the sewing table, so since it’s gone… But I do try to remember to clear it off when I’m done with the laundry.
