ADT Home Security System

ADT Home Security System

Crime, or I should say breaking and entering is not a big problem in our area, although the camp west of us has been broken into at least twice in the past eighteen months.  But we’ve been looking into home security systems anyway, for both my family and our own homes.

We’ve spent weeks comparing all the major brands and services and have settled on ADT.  Actually, it was my father that got me started looking at them, when his basement flooded a few weeks ago and it took me probably a week to notice it.

I love the new security systems they have out now!  Although, like I said earlier, burgleries are not our main concern, fire is.  We love rural life, very few neighbors, very little traffic, and all the peace and quiet you can handle.  But those same benefits also pose a problem.  Three houses within a two mile radius of us have burnt in the past two years, all because no one saw anything until it was too late, luckily no one was hurt in any of them.  When you’re not home out here, your house is totally alone, if it catches fire, it’s going to burn.  By the time neighbors whom are a half mile away notice anything, it’s pretty much too late.  Then it’s getting the firemen called in (all volunteer fire dept. out here) and twenty minutes or more before they are even ready to roll.

But not only do the new alarms guard against burglery and fire, they now have carbon monoxide, flood, temperature change (in case your furnace goes out, so your water lines don’t freeze and break) and even home health security for people living alone, such as the elderly, like my 81 year old Gram.

For me what really convinced me, besides the fire alarm, is the carbon monoxide monitoring.  Every winter you hear all the horror stories about whole families killed by carbon monoxide poisoning, and it’s horrifiying.  In our old house three years ago, we had a faulty furnace and a scary night with the prescription cialis carbon monoxide detector going off.

For my parents the main draw of the ADT system is the amoxicillin without prescription temperature, flood and fire alarms.  As they are gone at least six months out of the year, it seems their basement always floods and I don’t notice it until a week or two later, because I don’t check the house that often.

And for my Gram, it’s the home health security, and the personal emergency response system, that’s the most important.

One alarm system that can handle it all!

The monthly monitoring fees are very reasonable compared to all other plans!  (Plus, it’s one of the few systems that have monitoring available in our area – another drawback of living in the sticks!)
