Friday Fragments

Advertise with my BlogFriday Fragments is hosted by Mrs. 4444 @ Half-Past Kissin’ Time, so jump on over there and see what’s going through everyone’s mind!

Friday again already?  Where did the week go, I think I must have fallen asleep on Tuesday and awoken on Thursday, I seem to be missing days somewhere…

Except for all the canned goods sitting around still waiting for a place to be stored.  I was starting to think that canning was fun, until I had to load all those jars up onto the top shelf of the pantry – wow, what a work out, and yet they still don’t all fit.  I wonder what people would think if they saw that I had canned goods in a cupboard in the bathroom?  It was the only free storage area left, and even it’s filled now… The next ones will end up under the bed maybe?

Oh to be a first grader again, and be thrilled to go to school everyday, and excited to show off what you learned at school every evening when you get home…  We’re on week four and she’s still so excited about school, of course she’s been home sick yesterday and today, and it’s been driving her crazy not knowing what they’re working on at school…  I wish I could feel that kind of excitement about something again…  Little kids are so great! (When they’re not puking on you!)

What’s up with all the blogs that are redirecting lately?  Entrecard seems to be overrun with blogs that redirect to search results before the blog itself even gets a chance to load correctly.  Don’t these people realize that they’re missing out on not only Entrecard drops, but any readers or comments they might have gotten otherwise?  I know as soon as they start to redirect me, I immediately close the tab.  Oh well, I guess it’s their loss.

I’ve also seen a lot of Link From Blog badges going up recently around the blogosphere, how’s that going for everyone?

I totally miss being excited like a kid. I try to be, but I don’t always succeed.

I took down my EntreCard about a year ago. It was just more of a pain than anything else, especially when they began to run the paid ads.

    Happy FF!

It sucks that as you grow up you lose that excitement! I’m trying to stick with Entrecard, it helps keep track of the blogs I like to read. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m impressed with your canning (and maybe a little jealous, too.) What did you can?

We’ve (my mom and I) done tomatoes (diced), tomatoes (stewed), tomato sauce, green beans, corn, peaches, pears, grape juice, grape jelly, strawberry jam, elderberry jam, pickles, hot peppers… I think that’s everything for this season so far… It’s the green beans that take up so much space – we had so many beans that we were giving them to anyone and everyone. Thanks for stopping by!

I am just going to sit on entrecard for awhile. I do have a list of all my favorite blogs. As for getting excited. No one can get as excited as a child.
    Have a good Weekend.

I’m trying to just go with the flow on Entrecard for now… Children are wonderful when they’re all excited like that!

I wish my kindergargener was still excited for school. I think he feels is severely cuts into his Lego time!
I would totally store stuff in the bathroom if that was the only spot. I have kitchen appliances in cupboards on the stairwell a whole floor above the kitchen!

Occasionally, she’ll complain that she doesn’t have enough time to play with her toys, but most of the time, she’s so excited about school that she’s like to go on weekends too! I have kitchen appliances in my garage too, we’re hoping to put a canning kitchen in down there soon to help keep the house cooler in the summer. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you for saying what you did about the entrecards. I thought I was going crazy!! I’m glad I’m not the only one that just closes the tab!

Your welcome. It irritates me so bad that I refuse to try and keep hitting the back button an hoping the entrecard loads before it redirects yet again, so as soon as I see it – I just shut the page down.

My kid was excited for all of 3 days. Now every morning he wakes up and says, “I don’t wan’t to go to school” And everyday when I pick him up I ask him if he had fun at school and he gives me an emphatic yes. Why don’t you want to go then??? kids..

Four weeks in and my first grader still loves it! My 8th grader on the other hand is much like your son!

I really miss home canned stuff! Store bought always makes me feel disappointed and grumpy. I think the bathroom is a perfectly good place to keep food storage, especially when it’s good stuff!

I love the home canned stuff too, I know exactly what’s in every jar. Well, I did manage to get a promise from my hubby that he would soon add some shelves to the pantry and laundry room for more canned goods, since he doesn’t want them to end up under the bed. Thanks for stopping by!

I still like Entrecard, but I’m not a good dropper, now that school has started. I just don’t have the time!

I love that your daughter loves school so much. May every teacher she has inspire her for the next 11+ years :)

I’ve never seen the Link From Blogs or the redirecting thing. Hmmm.

Canning is exhausting work (or so I’m told). You’re going to be so happy you squirrelled away all those goodies!

Thanks for joining in this week :)

I’m getting better at the canning thing, and am finding out that although it’s tiring work, it’s not really hard. The worst of it is lugging stuff around, my arms weren’t aching until I had to keep climbing up and down off of a chair putting full jars on a shelve above my head – now that was quite the workout.
