He was able to point it out and you were able to get it quickly. Another good reason for locks is to keep kids from stealing all your ice creams. I've never been to a party where the fridge has been locked. But it's an interesting thought, and I can see the reason for it! @ Lilysgramma - True, I hadn't thought of the kids trying to climb in it. Of course they wouldn't fit in ours because it's always nearly full - they'd have to unload it first! But I do remember getting stuck in a tool chest once when I was little, during hide and seek. @ Anthony - Well, not too horrible... More like stupid! Thanks! @ Chrystal – Really? At least that was why the put them on in "the old days". If a small child gets into a chest type freezer, there is a type of vapor lock so they might not be able to get it open again, and the freezer is air tight and it would not take long for the kid to die of oxygen depravation. To address your earlier statement, one might one a lock on their freezer if they had lots of people over and they didn't want anyone looking for food.
