GobblerI actually live less than ten miles from the famous, or infamous Gobbler’s Knob, where Punxsutawney Phil, the world renown ground hog supposedly lives.  For those of you whom don’t know better – he doesn’t really cialis ejaculation live there.  He along with a bunch of other groundhogs live down in the library, near the fire station in town.  He’s just hauled up there every year to make a big spectacle, which is the big joke!

Why would something like this become so popular?  Why would they make a national holiday devoted to something this stupid?

I’m a non-believer I guess.  Although I’ve lived near it all my life, I’ve never gone up on groundhog’s day to see the show.  To me it’s just too ridiculous!  50,000 plus people gathering in the freezing cold morning to try and get a glimpse of a groundhog.  Why bother, I see them in my back yard all the time.  We shoot them because they tear up the garden.  It’s not even the same groundhog they use every year!

And as for whether or not he sees his shadow, it’s the same thing either way, they just word it differently.  Face it, those of us in the north have six more weeks of winter either way!  (If not more.)

But I guess when your town’s only claim to fame is a crappy groundhog, you play it up as best you can!  Maybe Punxsy needs to get a better gimmick!

Or maybe I’m just lacking local spirit.  We’re also less than 100 miles from Pittsburgh, but I didn’t know the Steelers buy drugs on line won the superbowl under I picked my daughter up at school and she told me.

Phil is a rodent, I’ll believe he thinks he can predict the weather once he earns his meteorology degree :) . My husband, on the other hand, was ready to drive up there to have it out with Phil.

Hi, I’m from Spain, Europe. We know Groundhog’s day because of that film with Bill Murray, We keep using the Groundhog’s day (“El día de la marmota” in Spanish) as a joke, when everyday looks the same, hahaha. So I find it funny

Groundhog day is so ridiculous, when I was younger I thought it was cool, now its just lame… there is so much more important things we can spend our time and energy on.

Very true! Now try having that attitude when you live in the same town with good old Phil!

It’s not Phill that thinks he can predict the weather. It’s all those idiots that put on the whole production. The groundhog is just that, a groundhog. He has no clue what going on.

I wish I could forget when it is. But around here you have to remember it – if not you may unsuspectingly wander into town that day and get caught up in the madness! Plus, it’s also my Gram’s birthday.

The movie wasn’t even filmed around here. They came in and took a few shots of the town, and that’s about it.
