Thanksgiving was a rousing success, if a little weird. The food was amazing, and cooked by me! I was so proud of myself! I did it all on thanksgiving morning, much to my Gram’s dismay. She thought I should have all my pies and side dishes done on Wednesday night, but you know me – the procrastinator – wouldn’t go for it! Why do today, what can be put off until tomorrow! But seriously, I had plenty of time on Thursday to get everything done by one, and I didn’t even get up until seven.
My Gram was quite disappointed on Thanksgiving, as my aunt and uncle canceled on Wednesday night. I had thought they would anyway and hadn’t really planned on them coming. But it left Gram heartbroken. She spent the morning crying while I baked. Then when she finally quit crying, she started calling everyone she knew to see what they were doing. The ones who had no plans ended up eating with us.
What a weird little party it was. Myself, my husband and our daughter, and My Gram and seven of her friends. I commented to my husband that we were the hosts of this years “Lonely and Aging” club’s thanksgiving dinner! But it was okay, and we felt good because we had made prescription drugs online without prescription all these elderly ladies days. The thank you cards are still coming in! And despite the crowd, we still had lots of yummy leftovers!
Today I’m once again spending most of the day in the kitchen, cooking my daughter’s birthday dinner and cake. She’s six today… Where did the time go? How can my baby be six already?
And we’ve been working on decorating for Christmas. But somehow during the move, one of my totes of christmas decorations best price for cialis seems to have gone missing, so the tree is looking quite bare, has no star on top and I’m debating going into a panic looking for it. Unfortunately, I just can’t seem to muster up the energy to panic, so I pretty much gave up. It’ll turn up eventually, I hope – if not, I may have to take down the big tree and put up one of the smaller ones, to make the ornaments go farther. (Yes, I own about five artificial trees – I had a hard time finding one I really liked – yet, I can’t stand to throw out perfectly good trees, and I have a huge attic in my garage, so I shove them all up there.)
The tree toppy, half of the ornaments, and most of the other decorations are in the missing tote – so it looks like the christmas elves petered out half way through their decorating in my house. The way I am – it’ll be this way until the week before christmas, and then I’ll suddenly finish everything.
My kids are home with me today helping, as it’s the first day of buck season here in western PA, and that’s like a national holiday around here, the schools are closed, and so are a lot of other businesses. My husband said only half of the guys he works with showed up for work today – the other half are out hunting. My son was thrilled a few weeks ago when he got his buck during archery, now he doesn’t have to be in the woods today, so he’s spent most of the day hiding from me so he won’t have to help with the decorating. I let him. I have more than enough help from my daughter… Sometimes I swear she has twelve hands!
Hope everyones holidays were happy!
